Optimized control plane APIs and data migrations for Bedrock Guardrails, cutting guardrail creation latency and scaling per-account limits.
- Replaced Lambda in-memory scan with 2 concurrent DynamoDB queries in 3 control plane APIs to cut network transfer, reducing CreateGuardrail latency by 42.6% at P90 (4402→2527 ms), 69.4% at P99 (14808→4538 ms), and 6.7% at P50 (1867→1741 ms) for 0–7500 guardrails.
- Built bash load tests across 3 affected control plane APIs, capturing P50/P90/P99 latency and ramping up TPS to validate gains at scale while verifying correctness of dependent APIs like ListGuardrails.
- Designed a backfill migration from O(N) scans to O(1) transactions, drawing on internal Amazon best practices and tooling to raise the cap from 1 to 25 TPS.
